China’s privately-held shipbuilder New Century Shipbuilding hosted a launching ceremony for two 40,000LTDW crude oil tankers being built for Indonesian state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina. 

The two ships, are the second and third crude oil tankers Pertamina ordered through its subsidiary Pertamina Shipping in March 2014. 

Under the deal, the Indonesian shipping company, ordered three 40,000-dwt newbuildings slated for delivery during the first half of 2016. In addition, Pertamina has an option to order an additional unit. The estimated price of the three tankers is USD 90 million. 

Pertamina Shipping operates a fleet of approximately 200 ships, out of which over a quarter are owned ships.
