Benoa, August 8, 2026 — PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero), or BKI, strengthened its collaboration with key maritime industry stakeholders by signing a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to support the development of Indonesia's leisure and maritime tourism sector. The agreements were signed during the INSA Yacht Festival (IYF) 2026 in Benoa, Bali.
BKI signed MoUs with the Indonesian National Shipowners' Association (INSA), PT Jasaraharja Putera, and PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero) to promote the development of the maritime tourism industry, with a focus on strengthening safety standards, technical seaworthiness, and maritime risk management.
The agreements were signed by BKI President Director R. Benny Susanto, PT Jasaraharja Putera President Director Abdul Haris, INSA Chairperson Carmelita Hartoto, and PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero) Technical Director Delil Khairat.
BKI President Director R. Benny Susanto emphasised that strengthening maritime safety and classification standards requires close collaboration among industry stakeholders.
“Through collaboration with all stakeholders, BKI is optimistic that strengthening classification functions and safety standards will make a tangible contribution to creating a safer, more efficient, and sustainable maritime tourism sector, while simultaneously reinforcing Indonesia's position as a competitive maritime nation on the global stage,” said Benny.
As part of the same event, BKI also signed MoUs with PT Tringgading Agung Pratama, PT Wisata Biru Indonesia, and PT Pelayaran Wisata Laut Varuna Sakti. These partnerships are aimed at supporting the development of the maritime tourism sector while strengthening safety and reliability across tourism-related shipping activities.
Through these multi-stakeholder partnerships, BKI is reinforcing the implementation of safety standards across the leisure shipping industry. The initiative is expected to support safer and more reliable maritime tourism activities while contributing to the sustainable growth of Indonesia's maritime tourism sector.
