PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero) or BKI, as the Lead Holding of the State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Survey Services Holding IDSurvey—which consists of PT SUCOFINDO and PT Surveyor Indonesia—took part in a ceremony to present ship component product certificates to five member companies of the Indonesian Ship Component Industry Association (PIKKI).

The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Industry (KEMENPERIN), BKI, and PIKKI. The ceremony was held on May 21, 2025, at the Ministry of Industry’s headquarters in Jakarta.

BKI, together with KEMENPERIN and PIKKI, has been collaborating through a Technical Guidance and Certification Program for ship component products. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of domestic products while strengthening the global competitiveness of Indonesia’s maritime industry.

On the same occasion, the signing of the MoU marked a new direction in the development of the national ship component industry. This approach emphasizes greater collaboration and integration among the government, industry players, associations, and BKI as an equal partner in driving national competitiveness.

The event was attended by the Director of Maritime, Transportation, and Defense Equipment Industries (IMATAP) of KEMENPERIN, Mahardi Tunggul Wicaksono, representing the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics Industries (ILMATE); Chairman of PIKKI, Eki Komaruddin; and Director of PT BKI (Persero), R. Benny Susanto.

In his remarks, R. Benny Susanto, Director of PT BKI (Persero), emphasized that the certificates presented are more than just formal recognition—they represent the readiness of industry players to advance and compete in broader markets.

“Certification is not merely a formality. It involves a process of learning, mentoring, and capacity building. Through this process, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of quality standards, efficiency, safety, and sustainability,” said R. Benny Susanto.
