JAKARTA – PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero) or BKI, as the lead of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Survey Services Holding, IDSurvey, which consists of PT SUCOFINDO and PT Surveyor Indonesia—continues to strengthen synergy in the maritime sector. On February 6, 2025, BKI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or PELNI at BKI’s Head Office in Jakarta. This collaboration aims to improve safety and efficiency in maritime transportation through various strategic initiatives.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Andry Tanudjaja, Director of Institutional Relations of PT BKI (Persero); Mr. Robert MP Sinaga, Director of Fleet and Technical Affairs of PT PELNI (Persero); Mr. Arief Budi Permana, Deputy Director of Classification Business Management of PT BKI (Persero); Mr. Erwin Ernanto Hoesni, Deputy Director of Commercial Business Management of PT BKI (Persero); Ms. Winda Ary Susanti, VP of Corporate Marketing Division of IDSurvey; Mr. Darman, VP of Owner Surveyor of PT PELNI (Persero); Mr. Tomi Santoso, VP of Nautical Affairs of PT PELNI (Persero); and Mr. Otto Van Muller, VP of Fuel & Lubricant Management of PT PELNI (Persero).

This partnership marks a strategic step in strengthening synergy between SOEs in the maritime sector, covering various critical aspects of the industry—from training and human resource development, the use of advanced survey and inspection technologies, to ship classification and other technical areas. The collaboration is designed to enhance ship safety standards, support fleet maintenance, and drive innovation in maritime operations.

“The objective of this MoU is to strengthen cooperation between SOEs in the maritime sector, particularly in ship safety. We aim to support PELNI in building new vessels, maintaining its fleet, and ensuring that ship health and safety standards are upheld,” said Mr. Andry Tanudjaja.

Echoing this, Mr. Robert MP Sinaga, Director of Fleet and Technical Affairs of PT PELNI (Persero), emphasized the importance of BKI’s role in ship classification and expressed hope for continued collaboration.
“We hope this synergy continues to grow stronger. All PELNI vessels have been classified by BKI, and we rely heavily on their support and expertise, especially in survey and consultancy services,” he stated.
