Surabaya, August 27, 2025 — PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero) (BKI) Surabaya Branch has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), expanding collaboration in education, research, and innovation. The signing took place at the ITS Rectorate, attended by BKI Surabaya Main Branch Head Bambang Riyanto, BKI Surabaya Commercial Branch Head Sudibyo, ITS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Nurul Widiyastuti, and ITS Director of Academic Development and Learning Innovation Prof. Dr. Ir. Aulia Siti Aishah.

The partnership is designed to strengthen BKI’s human resource competencies by engaging not only with maritime studies but also with other ITS faculties such as industrial engineering. Beyond education, the collaboration also covers joint research, including the development of unmanned vessels, marine drones for disaster response, and real-time ship emission monitoring—initiatives that support Indonesia’s 2060 Net-Zero Emissions target.

Through this initiative, BKI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing human capital, research, and innovation in cooperation with ITS, as part of its vision to become a world-class classification body while supporting the government’s clean energy transition agenda.
