A total of 22 French businessmen paid a visit to the Coordinator Ministry (CM) for Maritime Affairs on Monday (14/03/2016). Those businessmen want to explore the maritime business in Indonesia.

Coordinator Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli said the businessmen were interested to work in the maritime sectors such as energy and technology. They have interest after seeing serious government efforts in establishing Indonesia as the world's maritime axis. "Relations between Indonesia and France has been mutually benefits for long. It is important to improve this relationship," he said in Jakarta.

He said the meeting is just preliminary. Later, the French and Indonesian businessmen will be brought together in a workshop. From this effort is expected there will be a business deal between the both sides.

"Specifically there will be a workshop of French companies which are interested in the maritime sector and Indonesian companies. We are facilitating until the interaction of concrete business deals," he explained.

Second Deputy of Natural Resources and Service of Coordinator Ministry for Maritime Affairs Agung Kuswandono said, the workshop is plan to be held in October 2016.

"We do the workshop first, so they can fit in, then come and then explore. Some of them already exist in Indonesian and some are new company," he said. He said, with the particular workshop it is expected that French businessmen and local partner can be collaborated. Besides France, the investment interest has also come from Dutch, Japan and Korea businessman.

‎"We are not choosing them to come to us. We have met the Netherlands, France, Japan, Korea, all countries have started interested in entering to Indonesia, as a kind country we receive, not choosing," he asserted. (Amd / NRM) **
